Transforming Lives Through Communication and Inclusion
Hands That Speak Volumes works to promote access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and to expand communication for their families and allies across Greater Cleveland. Our programs are guided by Deaf-centered values and built through collaboration with community members, churches, and organizations. Together, we foster understanding, remove communication barriers, and create spaces where everyone can participate, connect, and belong.
ASL Education and Community Programs
Our programs are designed to strengthen connection, build shared understanding, and support accessible communities. Whether someone is beginning their ASL journey, working to make a space more inclusive, or seeking deeper engagement with Deaf culture, our offerings meet people where they are and grow alongside the community.
American Sign Language Courses
Beginner to moderate-level ASL classes offered online, self guided OR instructor moderated with a focus on real world communication, Deaf culture and inclusive interaction. Courses are administered externally through university partner.
Deaf Ministry & Faith-Based Accessibility Support
Partnership and guidance to help churches and faith communities build inclusive worship environments where Deaf individuals can fully participate.
Accessibility Advocacy & Hearing Loop Support
Education and advocacy around induction hearing loop systems and other communication access tools that strengthen inclusion in public and community spaces.
Training, Workshops & Community Events
Interactive programs that promote Deaf awareness, accessibility, and meaningful participation across Greater Cleveland.

Learn ASL and Build Connection
Learning American Sign Language is about more than vocabulary—it’s about building relationships and participating in a shared community. Our ASL courses help learners begin their journey from first-time signers to those developing stronger communication skills. Through interactive instruction and cultural learning, participants gain the confidence to communicate respectfully, engage with Deaf culture, and build lasting connections.
